The left is using social media to manipulate America, writes columnist Dan Savage.
“Social media is a way for the left to organize, and the left has no interest in the kind of public discussion that would occur in real life,” Savage wrote in his latest column for The Huffington Post.
Savage is a frequent target of social media trolls who are calling him a fascist.
But Savage isn’t worried about them.
In fact, he says they have made him the target of a smear campaign by his left-wing friends, who are also using Twitter and other platforms to target his political opinions.
When Savage launched his political commentary website, Savage News, in 2010, he did not foresee how the left would take advantage of his site, which offered readers a wide range of political commentary.
He now sees it as an effective tool to promote left-leaning news and commentary.
“If you’re going to engage with the left, you have to take a position, and you have no choice but to engage,” Savage told Business Insider in an interview.
Social media platforms are designed to make it easy for people to organize.
Twitter, for instance, allows users to share links to news articles, videos, and memes.
Facebook allows users and their friends to post and retweet messages, pictures, and videos.
And Facebook also allows users like Savage to comment on posts, like this one from 2016: “Trump wants to ban immigrants from the US and ban the burqa and the hijab, and we’re not going to let him do that.
We’re not willing to accept it.”
Savage News was launched in 2010 by three people, including former Clinton campaign staffer Sarah Lacy, who is now an independent commentator on CNN.
The site has since gained traction, reaching over a million readers, according to Savage.
“Social networking platforms are being used to help organize and spread information and opinions that are critical to the left,” he said.
The left, however, isn’t interested in that, he said, and has instead tried to control what people can say on the platform.
“The left has become increasingly sophisticated at using social platforms to try to manipulate the conversation and use it as a tool to manipulate what people believe,” Savage said.
Savage says he has been attacked on social media by his right-wing buddies, some of whom have been calling him fascists.
While he has not been targeted, Savage says he’s received death threats, which he’s defended.
“I’m not going anywhere,” Savage continued.
“It’s a way of life, and it’s a part of the American psyche, so it’s hard to change that.”
What is Twitter, and how does it work?
What does it mean to be a leftist?
Social media allows people to gather, organize, discuss, and share ideas.
Twitter is a free social network that lets users create groups and follow them.
Its popularity is fueled by the fact that it allows users who follow the right-leaning message to quickly find other people with similar political opinions, and in turn to engage in conversation.
It’s also easy to share a message that’s shared with the right.
Twitter is often used to discuss the election, including when a candidate is mentioned on social issues.
The left, by contrast, uses it to discuss things like Black Lives Matter, the Black Lives movement, and anti-government protest.
What is the left’s strategy?
The left uses social media platforms to manipulate Americans.
In the 2016 election, for example, the left targeted voters on social platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
The left wants to make sure that people believe what they’re told, Savage said, so they can use social media sites as a way to spread their propaganda.
It is a strategy that has helped the left take control of American politics, Savage noted.
The problem with social media, he continued, is that it has the potential to be hijacked by the left.
“There’s no way to monitor the influence of a hashtag on the right, but there’s a lot of ways to get the message out,” he explained.
If you follow the wrong message on Twitter, you can be easily labeled a fascist, Savage added.
It’s not just the left that is using Twitter to spread misinformation and disinformation.
“Twitter is a powerful tool for spreading propaganda,” Savage explained.
“And that’s where it’s coming from.”
